MPA670 Grinding Macheine

Dedicated Grinding Machine for Electrolytic Copper Foil Industrial Rollers

This project was developed in response to the needs of a global leading manufacturer of electro-deposited copper foil. In the copper foil production process, surface consistency of industrial rollers is a critical quality factor. Therefore, a highly stable mechanism capable of continuous reciprocating grinding is required.

The design concept is based on the MPA670.15.3 platform, with targeted structural optimization for this specific application.

Structural Optimization

‧ Structure: The conventional lathe compound rest, feed gearbox, and feed rod have been removed. The transmission chain is simplified to eliminate unnecessary mechanical variables and improve operational stability.

‧ Drive Configuration: 2HP geared motor drives a 50 mm lead screw, paired with fixed bronze double nuts to ensure smooth, precise linear motion.

‧ Balancing Design: A counterweight is installed at the rear of the saddle on the 16" bed platform. This ensures proper center-of-gravity balance and dynamic stability during long-stroke travel.

Operating Parameters

Spindle Speed: Fixed at 160 rpm

Z-axis Feed Rate: Stable control from 0.76 mm/s to 3.06 mm/s
