The ZNC3500.150.9 is an ultra-heavy customized lathe platform completely planned and built from scratch by MYDAY based on specific project requirements. This machine fully embodies the foundational rigidity value of a pure project-based platform: within a massive machining workflow, it breaks free from the framework of traditional standard models to focus exclusively on providing the strongest structural load capacity and geometric accuracy foundation. This approach allows subsequent system integration to be highly specialized without bearing the transition costs of over-engineered turnkey machines. Specially engineered for extremely large workpiece machining, it features a swing over bed of 3500 mm, a machining length of 15 meters, a 125 kW ultra-high power variable frequency spindle motor, and an A2-20 spindle nose, demonstrating the ultimate stability required for heavy-duty cutting processes.
This machine was developed to meet the extreme load-bearing and micron-level indexing requirements of defense, aerospace, and heavy strategic component machining. To handle extreme workpiece loads of up to 40 tons, the MYDAY R&D team reinforced the bed structure design to a width of 52 inches and configured a Ø 560 mm (A2-15) rotating tailstock spindle. Concurrently, a total of four heavy-duty four-point closed steady rests were specially developed and manufactured (covering three size specifications ranging from Ø1200 to Ø2500 mm), equipped with two sets of electric motor and gear rack-driven steady rest moving bases to ensure absolute rigid support and flexible configuration for giant shaft workpieces throughout the entire 15-meter process. In terms of critical dual-axis positioning accuracy, a single servo motor positioning system was introduced, deeply integrating a Heidenhain angle encoder and high-rigidity hydraulic braking device to perfectly optimize the dynamic indexing and static locking precision of the CF / CS axes. The massive tailstock body utilizes an electric motor drive for displacement along with hydraulic precision positioning. Ultimately delivered in the form of a project-based bare machine structure (Bare Machine Structure), this project passed rigorous structural rigidity and geometric accuracy validations, providing the most solid rigidity foundation for subsequent high-level system integration in cutting-edge industries.
